RE: How to overcome fear of fainting
Hi Steven,
You need to get the confidence, that you will not faint. This is the only thing, that will help against this anxiety.
Think for a moment: how many out of 100 people do actually ever in their live faint? I am pretty sure it will be more like 1 in 1000! If that many! So it is not very likely to happen anyone anyway. Then think, how often has it actually happened to you? I am sure you have been to the doctor or hospital or other places you might expect it to happen, and you certainly did rarely faint, if ever! So your chances of every in your live fainting (or fainting again), are very slim indeed.
Keep going over this calculation, research the actual figures and keep repeating them to yourself, whenever the anxiety tries to grip you.
When you go to the doctors, also think, what would be the worst thing about fainting in the surgery? Well, nothing to be ashamed about, because you would not be the first or last person this happens to. And if you faint, well, there is no saver place than a surgery or hospital. Because even if you need assistance, the place is swarming with medically trained people who can provide it!
Trust your body and it will keep working properly!
