Linden Method

Hi folks

I've been thinking of trying the Linden Method. At the moment I take beta blockers for my anxiety (finally gave in to trying drugs after years of avoiding them) and I would like to stop taking them.

I was wondering if anyone on this site has actually tried the Linden Method? Did it work? Or do you know anyone else that's tried it? I thought since it sponsors this site, someone might have tried it.

The only hassle I'm having is that I can't download any info from their website - it just keeps saying the page isn't there - if you read this Charles, maybe you could explain if there is a problem?

Thanks, look forward to hearing from you guys, I'm determined to get my anxiety sorted!

I have it. i think its good. Im now giving the method all i have, as i couldnt before. If you are going to give it a blast, please make sure your willing to put 110% into it. its not a magic wand. its a natural 'cure'. i say cure carefully because were not ill. we dont need a cure. what we need is to put this behavioural disorder back into order! the linden method can help you do that. Besides, theres a money back guarentee, so theres no reason why you shouldnt try it! theres no con. i have known people not give it a chance and got a refund. so you will get your money back if you have doubts, but i will say, if it not what you think it is, atleast give it a couple months to actually try it.
Still sceptical? Go on amazon, the uk or usa site and youll see some reviews about it there, from real people, just like you and me!

Hi

Thank you for replying to me. What do you actually have to do in the method. I still feel a bit confused. Could you tell me what you are doing with it?

Thanks

Gill

Hi gill,
It would be unfair to tell you in great detail how it works etc as its not my method to explain! But in brief, the method sets out a few rules to add into your daily routine, those rules after a while become habitual, over riding the anxiety etc. thats the basic idea of the method. then because it does require some strength, you have relaxation cds to get rid of all those aches and pains and tension. and some visualisation cd's. plus a dvd . he decision is totally yours, but like i said, theres nothing to lose, you get a money back guarentee. When you first get it, i was sceptic like "is that it?!" buit i thought might aswell give it a try, 2 weeks later i was doing GREAT!!! but i had to stop the method as therapy intuded.

Hi Becci

I've been reading more about the method so I understand that it's trying to turn the switch off. But it doesn't give you any idea on the website what it encourages you to do. Do you have to put yourself in to situations that make you feel anxious? I'm sorry if I'm asking you too many questions so feel free to send me a private message if you don't want to post. I'm really grateful for the help you can give me.

I meant to ask you earlier too, was it the downloaded pack you got or did you get the one posted to you? It's just there's quite a difference in price and so wondered if you get less in the downloaded version.

Thanks again.

Gill

PS if anyone else has tried the method I'd love to hear from you. x

Hi Becci

I did get your message, thank you so much. I think I might give it a go. I might try the download version to see what it's like.

It's worth a try, I'm trying to find myself a new hobby that I could maybe start to see if I can give myself something to focus on and that might help distract me from my anxiety. Thank you so much for your help, you've been absolutley fab (and the only one to reply), I'm really grateful to you, I'll keep you updated as to how I get on!!!

No worries! Just remember that you have nothing to lose, if you feel it doesnt work, theres help and support from the linden team and if you still feel like its not working, you can get a refund! all to gain, nothing to lose!
Good luck

I received my downloaded version a couple of days ago and have started reading, but haven't gotten far. It encourages you to divert to something else, but isn't this "stuffing". It says not to do what I'm doing right now, which is surfing the web, asking questions, etc.
I scared that if I don't get to the root of this, and keep diverting myself, and it is "stuffing" my feelings - that I'll be back at the mental hospital.
Have I just not gotten far enough into this book to see where it's going or do I have a legitimate concern?

hi lharris,
Charles linden along with 99% of the health proffessions believe that after a panic attack, we stay on guard for more, therfore, create the panic attacks ourselfs by becoming sentasized.
You wont become stuffed up with negativity lol only tension, but that why you have the audio visualiasations and relaxation audio!
I do belive that anxiety forums and searching {take for eg googling symptoms, now did that help when you found cancer for head aches?!!} they can make yu worse, and more aware that you suffer. anxiety ios a habit, something we contribute to everyday. i worsened when i joined forums, gained more symptoms etc.
If your stuck and need answeres, ask the support team on the linden method, theyre great people.

If specifically says not to use forums such as this, but a lot of people say they have used it and it works. If it works, then why are they on this forum? I have gotten some great advice privately, about how to get my children to understand and help prevent some of this, etc. I want to do everything in my power to get better.
