OK, so I've being feeling really depressed today, but I'm really not helping myself. On Saturday I went to my voluntary work helping in the Dogs & Cats homeless shelter, but I didn't have breakfast so felt a bit queasy.

Instead of staying there all day, I left at 11:00 and went to my social club for daytime drinking & snooker. I had a bit of a laugh and felt better because of the drink & company, but I came home & went to sleep, & woke up feeling like crap for the rest of the weekend.

I'm not helping myself, it's true with anxiety/depression that self-help is probably the best way to overcome it. But it does take effort.

Hi Chris,

I know what you are speaking of. Even taking a shower can be a drag. Do smaller steps. A whole day in a pet sanctuary is hard even for someone who is in high spirits. Plan only a couple of hours for the beginning and make sure you reward yourself for you achievments!
But better stay off the booze unless you fell happy anyway, its the devil when you are not well. ;)

All the best! Take small steps, and you will do it!
