Which is scariest?

Going round on the London Eye or travelling on the train to get there?

Where do you have to come from to get to London Squatbetty? Obviously you don't live there or you wouldn't have to get the train there, lol. It's going to be a while before I go anywhere after my visit to Wimbledon almost 2 years ago. Haven't left Devon ever since.

Did you have a bad experience when you went to Wimbledon Chris? I live a LONG way from London. I've been on the train to London before but it took several hours and I wasn't on my own. And just the thought of being on the underground makes me feel freaked out.

I met up with my parents yesterday as they are on holiday not that far from where I live. I'd been looking forward to it all week, right up to the night before. I woke up yesterday morning feeling nauseous and was desperately trying to come up with an excuse not to go. It was purely mental, I knew deep down that I wasn't physically unwell. Anyway I bit the bullet and went. Travelled on my own on the train there and back to meet them & spent the day in a very busy market town. I didn't throw up, pass out, have a panic attack, make a fool of myself (all the usual negative thoughts that go through my head) and ended up having a lovely day with my parents. I'm so glad I made myself go :)

Yes, I did have a bad experience at Wimbledon. I only went there because I thought it would help me get rid of anxiety, plus seeing the electric atmosphere and not enjoying it one bit myself hit me hard.

Yes, you can have good days, but when the constant worry of throwing up/making a fool of yourself at any moment is there and real, you can't really enjoy life properly.

So I guess you're maybe Scottish if you live a long way from London?

I'm from the North of England and proud of it ;)

My good days are starting to outweigh the bad so I'm starting to feel much more optimistic.

Have you made any progress with your counselling?

I'm attending an evening course 1 and a half hours a week for 6 weeks, in June/July which should help.

What course is it Chris? I really hope it works out for you.

I've actually just come back from the course centre to enrol on the course and get the course handbook. It's called a 'stress control course' but it's basically for people who are anxious and/or depressed. I don't even know why they call it a 'stress control course', that's something for upper management in corporate companies.
