Hi , I havent posted for a while,as all has been good, but these last few months I have noticed anxiety creeping back when its my monthly.I'm 46 and am sure it's connected to my hormones as it 'feels' that way,I just wondered if any other ladies have found the same.I came off seroxat just over a year ago and manged for 4 months without anything but had a bad relapse that I couldn't fight any longer so went onto 20mg of citralopam which is evidently much better. Things have been great, except for this happening every month lol.

any input would be great and take away my worry that I'm fighting a loosing battle :)lol

best wishes
jan:)

Hi Jan,

I think everything you are experiencing is normal. In addition to the usual monthly swings your hormones start going extra-wild when you approach menopause. I heard from friends that they had problems they either never had or at least not in decades. Even though I would have thought you are very young for menopause still. I would approach a doctor. Maybe the citalopram can be increased (though it might be getting too much then  ) or you could be given hormones.
Definitely ask your doctor. If you do not like the solution he suggests you still can say no and try a bit longer without taking more medicine. Whatever you do, remeber: this is only a transition stage for your body and your hormones won't be going wild for too long!

All the best!
