Author, Anais Nin, wrote, "We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are." What is your opinion on this statement?

Our only representation of the outside world is the perception we create inside so I think it's a clever statement.

That's so true. we all have our own subjective realities. How I see things is different to how you see things because we all come from our own unique experiences and perceptions of things. For instance one person may see a christmas tree and feel comforted because they remember feeling secure with their family as a child whereas another person may see a christmas tree and feel sadness because it reminds them of being alone. it all depends on where we have come from and what we have experienced in our lives.
