My dear friends

It is with much regret that I post this final message to you but I no longer have the heart to participate in these discussions.

I have studied hard for years to understand the effects of anxiety on the human body and I have tried my best to pass that knowledge on to you all but now I have just had enough.

In trying to help other people I have faced suspicion, rudeness and even insults and I make no apologies for this statement: THE GOOD PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM DON'T PROVIDE A PUBLIC SERVICE, THEY ARE SUFFERERS TOO. START TO REALISE THAT YOUR ANXIETY IS YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY AND FOR EVERY GRAIN OF COMFORT THAT YOU TAKE FROM THIS FORUM, THEN YOU SHOULD GIVE BACK AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.

I apologise to the members that I have come to know and love: Chrissy, Erin, Greekgirl, Mermaidgirl, Louwho (and others who I may not have remembered). I am truly grateful for your input and I sincerely hope you know how to get in touch with me if you want/need to.

To the rest of you, the world doesn't owe you anything and you will only get rid of your anxiety if you get off your arse and make an effort.

I'll leave you with a maxim that I hold dear: if kindness is your currency then you determine how rich you are.

May your god bless you all

Chris x

dear chris,
i am fairly new to this site and feel quite sad that you are leaving as i have read a lot of your posts on here and have thought that you have given very good advice. I too have become very agrophobic and i am trying to do something about this......taking little steps at a time (i actually went into a supermarket on my own the other day which was a huge achievement!) so i do understand what you have been through and probably still going through. We need more people like you in the world who are willing to help others. This site and your advice have been a great comfort to me and i am sure it has to others too. Anxiety is a horrible 'illness' that affects every part of your life. However, with sites like this and people like you then we are able to seek reasurrance and understanding.
I hope you may come back and visit and i wish you well
Thank you for your help and advice
take care

Hi Rabidbadger...

I am fairly new to this site and just would like to say Thanks for all the advice you have given, wether it was directed to me via a post or all the advice you gave others that i read.

Your advice was invaluable and always right...Poeple ask for it but dont always use it and thats no good...and i can understand that you have had enough.

I just wanted to say Thanks anyway and it would be nice to see you were about again here one day.

Take Care

Hi

Thank you both for your kind words.

My decision to stop participating in the discussions was made rather hastily after a couple of particularly bad experiences and it is likely that I will be back to nag you all before too long.

In any event, I will still be keeping an eye on the forum to moderate unwanted posts and I'm sure you'll all join me in thanking Admin for cleaning up the mess that the forum got into over recent days.

Best wishes to you all.

Rabidbadger,
I am so sorry that you have been offended.. You have been such a help to me.. I appreciate all the info you have given to me, and all the time that spent in studying this God forsaken illness...
I hope you willl be back soon to give us your wisdom,,,
Doctors dont really know what we are going through,, so many of our symptoms are not even on a list of stuff.
I know what its like to need a break for this forums and other like it.. I have to have a break from them sometimes, because my heart goes out to all those on here that are suffering. Most of the time though, I find help and comfort on here,
I use to go to like three or four other forums, but i have chosen this one as my primary one.. mainly because I like your advice.. You tell it like it is,,, that's what I need... I want pity and people to feel sorry for me,, but that is not what I need..
Thanks again,,,,

Wow,

I've been away too long it seems. I had decided to take a little break from the forum for a while to see how that felt and now that I'm back I regret doing so.
Now I see that you will be taking a break.
I am so sorry that you will not be posting anymore Rabidbadger. You are such a big part of this forum. You always give great advice and I definitely appreciated it every time.
I haven't quite figured out what has happened during the past few days but I completely understand if someone insulted you personally..Sometimes people are just plain MEAN. I mean if you want to listen to the advice given, do so, if not, just don't listen. There is no need for nasty remarks.

The important thing is that you are well with yourself. I've said it before, you are cool in my books, so I wish well. I'm positive that you will be.
I hope we can keep in touch.

Hi all - I`ve been away from the forum for a little while like Greekgirl so I don`t know what rudeness/nastiness went on.

It`s such a shame Badger has decided to hang his hat up. Chris, you`ve always, always made the effort to respond to people and you give such good advice. I`ve noticed you don`t always get proper thanks for that! It seems your kindness often goes unrecognised.

Maybe it`s about time you thought of yourself a bit more?

Anyway, I`d like to thank you for all your help and if you do resume posting at some point, well, that would be wonderful! Just don`t wear yourself out for unappreciative folk is my opinion.

A x (and a hug)
