Hello.
Has anyone here felt that their anxiety was cured by Marijuana?? I think that mine was. I always felt so happy and safe while i was using it, but some time after i take it everything seems to scare me and get distorted. It scares he life out of me, so i took some more just to stop it. Is it just a coincidence, or are my suspicions correct and my problems are called by marijuana - the one thing that makes me happy?

This story strikes so many similarities with my life and the suffering i have gone through since using marijuana. Anything that distorts perception the way marijuana does cn only be bad. I know the short term effects seem nice but nothing about it is positive. I am lef with panic attacks. A friend of mine still gets flashbacks.

Flashbacks? wow thats a scary proposition. marijuana is turning out to be a bigger anxiety related problem than i anticipated.
Are there any offical websites/books that document this issue?

my boyfriend suffers from severe panic attacks and has done since he was 12...while he was studying a foundation art course he began smoking a lot....when he got a place in a brilliant art school in 2004 his smoking became a huge part of his life because he found it really hard to adapt to uni life without that social 'norm'..he became really depressed and broke up with me simply because he didnt know how to cope.. we are back together again but he gave up smoking just before christmas... since then the panic attacks havent stopped but if he smokes anything we can guarantee he will have a panic attack the next day. It comes from him feeling guilty about it and knowing that it isnt helping and so he gets nervous and worrried and believes that it's the drugs and .. ta da.. attack. It really isnt the answer . Panic attacks come from inside you and if you try to quell them they just come back at you even harder. Dope makes everyone feel good but as we all know it also leads to paranoia and depression. PLease see someone about this and keep in touch because i think a lot of people have this problem. The way He stops his attacks is by grabbing them when they start and counting backwards from 100 just to keep in control. it's all in your head and they are a part of yu so embrace them and learn strategies to reverse their grip on you. it is possible even though it feels like the hardest thing in the world while it is happenening. peace x x x x x x x

In my personal experience Marijuana was the drug that caused severe panic attacks, as many times as I tried it I could never enjoy it. Maybe it's just me. Alcohol is totally on the other hand it calms me down completely.

i agree, but my opinion is that noone should really use it. It really does distort the way of thinking and taking this purely on an anxiety basis i have to say that it really is a very bad idea.
