I have been having high blood pressure, Like 145/98 or something like that,, well I have a very bad phobia of meds,, so I have been on a strict diet and exercise to get my blood pressure down. I have a home monitor to check my blood pressure.. Well it says my blood pressure is ok,, 130/90, so its not that high,, but I have pressure in my head, right where my hair line is by my fore head. I am freaking that my monitor is not working and my blood pressure is higher then what it says,, I have taken it like 15 times and it says basically the same thing,, I hate when I get obsessed like this...
My husband just says dont think about it,,, if it was just that easy.
When my blood pressure is up,, I just know that at any time, I am going to stroke out, or have a heart attack. I just sit there waiting for a symptom.. I know that dont help out my blood pressure..
Ok,, sorry to keep going on,, I just needing to vent...

Hi Lou

I know it's hard but try to think about it rationally. The feeling of pressure in your head is a classic symptom of anxiety and is caused by nervous muscular tension rather than high blood-pressure.

If you want my advice, now that your blood pressure is down to a "normal" level (I don't know what the tolerances are) put your blood-pressure monitor in a cupboard, lock it away and forget that you own it. The doctor will tell you if your blood pressure is too high and all you are doing is feeding your own obsession.

Best of luck

Yeah I know,, my husband says that too... I get so obsessed about stuff, I hate it,, its like a light switch in my brain is turned on and I cant get it to turn off..
I had a "friend" call me first thing to day, saying she had a dream that I died in my sleep...I hate when people feels to share those things......
Ok,, I hope every body has an anxiety free day,,

Hi Lou

Obsessions are just habitual thinking. You'll never escape it while you keep doing it. It's like trying to stop smoking by lighting up a cigarette.

Like I said, stop checking your blood-pressure and let your doctor worry about it.
