The problem is that if the situation drags on and on the woman eventually has no courage or self-esteem left to remove herself - all confidence has literally been beaten out of her. Maybe you could encourage her to seek help now? She can take the children with her. Kids should not have to witness brutality; will they grow up thinking it`s acceptable behaviour?
