Hi everyone,
I believe I've had anxiety since I was a young girl. About a few years ago after I had my 2 boys I started experienceing panic attacks. I woke up one night with cold hands and feet, heart pounding and trembling feeling too. I had medical tests done, thinking I was going through pre-menopausal symptoms. Thyroid tests. Everything came back negative. Then I realized I needed psychological help(therapy) when my panic attacks started affecting my body more and more. Thinking something bad was going to happen. Very depressed. Felt like I was in a hole.
Well to make this story short. I sought out help(therapy) and went to a dr who prescribed me Zoloft. At the same time I was taking Zoloft, I vowed to myself that I would do self-help things to get myself back on track. The Zoloft has helped and I also started exercising a little more, took up a couple of hobbies, have been journaling for a long time now. As I slowly started feeling better physically, mentally I began to feel better about myself and more confident.
I am still on Zoloft but a low dose. My dr. and I thought it might be wise to stay on it a little more till my hubby comes back from overseas. I have been a single parent...let's see ....it will be a year next month(October 18) since my husband left for Iraq. His unit is due to come back sometime by the end of this year. THANK GOD!
I hope I gain some more knowledge about anxiety and hope to offer support to others here at this site.
I think these sites are great to get all the yucky stuff off our chests.
Take care everyone.
