Old_Anonymous_Members 18-07-05, 06:36 PM Do you have the linden method? Peter 19-07-05, 02:21 AM The MORE you dwell on your feelings, the WORSE. The most you can do, is make a quick analysis, decide what feelings are not welcome, ignore them. Distract your mind away, and LIVE. The Linden Method can surely help. Do things that you like and that challenge you, and by that boosting your self-confidence. In a way ur girlfriend is 'right'. She wants to live, and she has no clue about anxiety, and she might be OK to hear a little about it but not continiously or for a longer time. It's the demands people set towards others: it has to be pleasant or i'll flee. Unless really committed or that she is willing to 'suffer' with you and work towards a solution, but that requires some devotion and mutual understanding. In fact, THAT would be your REAL girlfriend, a partner for life. Greetings, Peter. Peter 19-07-05, 02:24 AM Oh yeah, doing things that challenge you. Well, they are things that are outside or partly outside of your comfort zone. You might feel well doing it, or you might not. But stick with it, it can only get better once you practise and build neural pathways to adopt the new behaviour. You CAN enjoy things. I think I remember that you find it challenging to sit on a bench besides the street or a park. I suggest you work towards doing that. Get a bike, ride a little, stop it, and wait while watching your watch if you like, 30 seconds. Do it again the next time or the same day if you feel up to it again, stay for longer, 45 seconds. Then 1 minute, 1 minute 30, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 6, 8, 10. You will learn to challenge your believes about your anxiety. Best is to find something that distracts you completely or as much as possible. Take photographs while you're out there. Greetings, Peter. |
