Hi Joanne

Have you tried talking to your doctor about beta-blockers? These might help.

That is way too harsh of your instructor to tell you that you are a danger to the public. That's a sure fire way to ruin someone's confidence!
I would suggest try driving around with family/friends in your own time, to get used to the busyness of the roads.
Also try beta-blockers if your doctor says it's OK like Chris said. They work wonders.

I am currently struggling through my driving test aswell. I dont have full blown panic attacks anymore but the stress levels do rise up when i give my test. I had to terminate my driving test too. I normally drive well, but it is only the tests that i have problems with. I tell myself that it is nothing major if i have failed my driving test. So make sure you stay positive. The fact that you show up for a test means that you are skilled enough to drive on the roads. So stay positive, and keep reminding yourself that if you can drive on the roads safely once, you can do it again. I will keep you updated if i find something significant that will help our Cause ;)

Take care and Stay Positive

I passed my test about 3 months ago and was in the same position as you.
I used bach flower remedy for about a week before my test, and just tried to imagine it was my instructor sitting next to me in the car, i also explained to the examiner just how nervous i was, and he was great about it and kept chatting all the way through which really took my mind off it.
My driving instructor told me that the doctor can prescribe you something for the nerves, but it can sometimes make you to laid back she has had a couple of instances where she has had to ask the people to stop the car and take over herself.
Good luck let us know how you get on.
