I have had anxiety on and off for 7 years. Just this past year anxiety symptoms have been very strong. Chest pains that last for hours and shortness of breath mostly. Was just wondering does anyone else get numbness of the back mostly on the left side? Also anyone have these feelings of chest pain for hours at a time? New here but hope to post often

Hi Steve, I have never had any numbness in my back during an attack. My heart pounds really fast, chest pain, pain in the throat, sweating, dizziness, sometimes nausea. These are the only physical symptoms I get and once the attack is over they disappear however I do feel somewhat exhausted afterwards especially if it's a long one.

Have you ever recieved any professional advice or treatment for this?

I've been to heart doctor's and lung doctor's all have said there is nothing wrong with me. My cardiologist performed all kinds of tests. even a nuclear stress test. I've taken 2 lung fuction tests. My family doctor tried to give me meds for general anxiety disorder, but to afraid to take them.
