:( Every day, day in and day out, i am always thinking Im sick. Its not the usual sicknesses though. Its diseases. Im always manufacturing symptoms. I start to worry and I get completely obsessive, scanning my body for bumps and marks. I dont know what to do with myself. This has gotten completely out of hand and I cant take it anymore. Does anyone else do this sort of thing to themselves? Can anyone help me and tell me how to control this. I am almost positive it is in my head. I know that is the first step, but I just cant seem to control it. Its driving me CRAZY!!!! :x :x :x

I really think many of us with panic disorder have hyper awareness to many things, including our selves, our bodies, our aches and pains. I have done this myself to some extent in the past, not so much anymore. I have learned to tell the difference. I do have some health issues that I deal with, but dont obcess about. I suggest that u get a physical with a complete work up to start to put your mind at ease. If u feel comfortable with your Dr. u can tell the Dr. that u just want to make sure you are in good health, so that u can stop worrying about it. This has helped me in the past, and in fact helped reduce my worrying about my health. Second, as soon as you start obcessing about how your feeling, looking, etc. find something else to focus on, anything that will distract you from doing it, ie: read a book, call a friend, watch a movie, do crafts, anything that removes your focus from yourself. Now Im not saying to ignore all physical symptoms completely, but try to learn the difference and realize when you are concerned for no real reason. Seriously thought to help u do this, get an anuual physical with the works, it really does help u to rest easier. Also, you may want to look at how much time your spending doing this obcessing, instead of other things, ie: sleeping well, physical activity, eating well, etc. because when u are wasting time obcessing and being tense you really are not going to feel well. I really hope I have helped you in some way. Your not alone. I wish you the best. And Your Okay!!

Thanks so much for this reply, that was very nice of you. I will keep that in mind. Definately will get to the doctor for a physical. I am only 23 and don't want to spend the rest of my life dealing with this obcessiveness... its terrible. I hope that you have a great weekend. Thank you and God Bless!!!
