Am 26 and male and have just typed about half an hours worth of message and the site crashed great!
Basically to sum it up what ways have helped u to get over shyness without medication etc sedatives alchole drugs espeically shyness that is linked with social phobia shyness that is linked with conversation and interaction of strangers or unfamilar people.
Have quite a few issues but SHYNESS is our main problem and not being assertive enough sure of ourself and being passive in behaviour in situations which are tough etc finacial and realtionships like letting people get their way all the time.

Hi 'sickofbeingscared',

I'm 28 and have being a very shy, anxious person for most of my life.

I sometimes will go bright red if someone starts talking to me or just walks in to a room (without even drawing attention to me)! It's really odd. I analyse why I'm getting embarrased and it never makes sense. I don't fancy the person; I don't admire them in any way or feel in awe of them; they've never embarrased me, etc.

It's very strange. It doesn't always happen. And it can happen sometimes when I know the person really well. Does this ever happen to you or anything similar?

It's obviously a personal choice how you deal with shyness but have you ever considered trying anything like Hypnotherapy?

Have tried hypnotherapy but found it worked temporaly not permanent like it was like drinking in some ways ie bringing oneself out of a state of mood shyness the real person coming out.
But the problem is that hypnotherpary is expensive.
The going red is probably a self conseuss thing etc thinking your in the spotlight like!
The who going red thing doesnt happen to me its more panic putting mind into a sudden alarmed state adrenaline etc the whole fight or flight theory.
Although smoke cigerattes and find that hard to do outside of flat in exposure situations.
Dont go red but that is more common that might think.
Thanks for advice
