Chris V 10-05-07, 02:02 PM I've been banned from the Anxiety Forum. I was only trying to write to people to explain that anxiety/panic disorder is curable. Apparently it's not I was constantly told, & I know nothing like I'm a stupid idiot who never suffered in the first place. That hurts me completley. I really did. I don't know why I even bother anymore. Most people have, replied to my PMs, but have been scepical, some people have been downright abusive againt my suggestions. It looks as though I'm out of my depth. I'll just have to carry on with my life now. Goodbye.
It's probably best to carry on with my life, change my E-mail address, & put anxiety behind me. I won't be responding to abusive language from people who are convinced that I don't know what it's really like to suffer from anxiety/panic. Believe me I do. I don't know what to say anymore.
Hi Chris V,
Not sure why you think you have been banned from any of the fourms, because you certainly have not been. If you are having problems posting, please PM me and I can look into any problems you are having.
We usually only ban users who post spam, bad links etc. and certainly we would not ban a forum regular like yourself without a very good reason.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards.
Furthermore Chris V. If you have been sent abusive PM's by other forums users, please let me know the details as we can investigate those and act upon them if required. As I said above, we dont ban people lightly, but any abuse either on the forums, or via the PM system will NOT be tolerated.
This is why I often suggest not putting provate email addresses on any posts, and not taking discussion to PM in too many cases. The main point of the forums is to have open air discussion, and this cannot be doen via PM or email.
Again, please do get in touch with me via PM so we can investigate this fully and take any actio required.
Regards.
Chris V 11-05-07, 09:51 AM Thanks for the reply. A long one here.
I actually suffered from anxiety for 7 years.
I was compelled to do certain things & was afraid to do certain things that a non-anxiety sufferer would actually enjoy doing.
What the Linden Method teaches you is that if you think and behave like an non-anxiety sufferer.
When I took the brave leap out of my anxiety zone and threw myself into the real world again it was very painful for a while (in fact I had no idea how painful it was going to be).
I just wanted rid of anxiety. After years of trying to keep it under control with meds and other things I just wanted it gone.
When I started implementing the Linden Method to my daily life, yes I did suffer panic attacks and I freaked out. But I carried on with it.
I didn't really get abusive E-mails as such. I was a bit graphic about what you have to go through to completely get rid of anxiety & people probably don't want to hear it.
I am sorry to say that when you do consciously force yourself to stop doing your 'anxiety things' and get involved in 'the real world' your anxiety levels will hit the roof before it goes away. It took 2 months in my case.
It's really not easy at all ( it can be terrifying at times). But yes, you do get over it. It haunts me less & less every day.
When I joined this site (after I was cured) my first post was yes the Linden Method does work, I'm anxiety free. But I really shouldn't have put a couple of smiley faces.
I'm sorry if this leaves a bad taste in your mouth to anyone who reads this, but it's not a case of you listen to the Linden CDs a few times & that's it, your cured, it can take sheer effort for a few weeks.
It is quite awful what I went through to get rid of anxiety. One thing I will say is that people were great about it. I explained it to them. Obviously they didn't like to see me panic & freak out, but my family & friends were good about it.
Hopefully there will be a magic pill to get rid of anxiety one day, because I wouldn't like anyone to go through what I went through for 2 months.
I probably was a bit insenstive about what a wrote to people, because they may of got freaked out by what I wrote.
It is a bit sad that it has to be this way. Yes the cure is there, but it is a painful one.
All I can say is if your still 'in there' I really hope it doesn't last forever.
Chris V 11-05-07, 01:44 PM My transition into an-anxiety free life was a nasty one, but it doesn't have to be. If you do get the Linden Method, E-mail & phone them up. Ask them how how to make a smooth transition into an anxiety-free life. Mine wasn't easy at all, and I do feel fragile about it.
But it's all in the past. I do feel very grateful about the Linden team for what they did.
If you do get the Linden pack, bother them. My transition into an anxiety-free life wasn't smooth.
Tell them about my situation & ask them how it can be a smooth way to get rid of anxiety. They are good people & I'm sure they will asvise you.
Again, getting rid of my anxiety/panic was nasty, but it probably doesn't have to be for everyone.
How nice to hear someone who has got through this:)
Chris V 13-05-07, 07:27 PM Hello, what a shattering experience the Linden Method is. My life was great for 25 years, but it was horrible for 7 years with anxiety. One thing I will mention is insensitivity. You do have to do things like through rubbish on the street & think 'sod it' when implenting the method, & not worry (making an effort not to worry is hard). I keep on going on & on about the Method sorted me out, but I'll stop one day.;)
