I have just noticed in the last yr that what have been experiencing is anxiety issues. I have been to the ER twice thinking that I had low sugar etc. but all test came back fine...therefore the doc's asking me if I had experienced anxiety attacks. At the time I said no but it wasn't until lately or the last time I visited the ER thats what I have been having.
So I have been put on numberous meds so far and I can't seem to find one that is working well without noticable side effects. I don't weight much for my height (5'10" and 110 lbs.) The first drug I was giving was Lexapro. I took this for awhile but it killed my stomach and I had lost of appitate which I can't afford. Then I was put on Xanax (.25MG) which seems to help but when it kicks in it makes me so tired I can barely stay awake and it gives me the jitters on the inside and then at other times I feel more anxious. Then they gave me Xanax...like slow release (1MG) which I took the night before and when I woke up I could barely stand up and I honestly felt like I was drunk. Most recently they gave me Klonopin (.5MG) and it seemed to work okay at first but I got to where I felt really sick and seemed to get even more jitterty and had a severe headache...and that was only taking like a 1/4 of the pill...that was the same for all the meds that I have taken.
I have called a counselor to start sessions. I have a few questions if someone would be so kind to answer/opinions. For one I feel like at times I am going nuts...like my head is just going to spend off my neck.
1. I feel so far that Xanax has worked the best but the side effects of the jitters just kill me...making my body shake...and then the killer headaches. Is there anything similar to that med but with less side effects?
2. I have also heard of some other meds. Anxietol 7, Sereydin, Wellbutrin, Nardil....has anyone experienced any of these meds and seen any results? Its seems everything that I have taken is to strong for my body.
3. Is there a difference between talking to a counselor and seeing a psychologist?
