Ok -

I came across this program and am a bit skeptical. 3 years ago when I graduated from college, i went through a really tough time with anxiety. I went on clonipin short term, then was on celexa for 6 months. Came off of celexa and was fine until about 3 months ago. My husband and I decided to move back home to VA. BAM! Panic attacks- then I became obsessed with my health. My doctor put me on lexapro (made me sicker than a dog), Now on Paxil. I am on 10mg and hate it. It has helped in that my mood is better, but I am not sleeping well (never had a problemt before the paxil), and I am really restless and still slightly anxious. I also sweat a lot and have wierd shaky feelings.

So, does this program really work? I am going through the midwest center's program, and it does seem to help some. Also, I don't know what the heck to do about the meds. This is my 6th week on them. I need some advice from someone outside of the medical field. I am thinking of switching back to celexa... or do i go off of them all together?

I am really stuck right now. HELP!

Hi, from my own experience, the Linden Method is a method that you have to follow. In my case of social anxiety and just how I am and have been the past 15 years, this is not easy. But, if you do follow it, it will help you and most probably cure you.

Medication is only sympthomatic masking. This is because anxiety is a habit, a way you respond to a given thought or situation. You programmed yourself this way. Medication actuallymakes you a totally different you, and when you get off them, the you you were will be back, and so will be your habitual way of interpreting situations and their concequences, hence, you'll end up being the same. So they are not the answer. Often you'll even feel less well, when getting off meds, this is called re-bound anxiety.

The Linden Method will surely give you insight in what is going on and how to approach it to disempower your anxiety. I have it too, I am NOT cured yet, but have found it worth its money already!
