Hi Dawn
Your problems sound very similar to mine. It is very hard to confront your fears - because they are fears.
I am agoraphobic and recently I have started working in the garden rather than going out in the street and I'm finding this a good way of getting me out of the house. I find that when I've been in the garden for a while, going for a walk doesn't seem like such a big deal.

You don't fight your fears, you conquer them. Loads of help off the net.
Hi Dawn!
You're definitely not alone - I've been agoraphobic for 2 and a half years. For the first year, I didn't go out at all. Then, my daughter became school phobic due to bullying and I had to start teaching her at home. This is helping me slowly as I don't want her health and happiness to suffer by not getting out of the house and exercising a few times a week. Although, I do have bad days and even bad weeks, but I really try and once we're actually out and about I'm ok. I don't think I could do it if I was by myself - I would maybe plan to go out then chicken out at the last minute. I do find that if we're planning to go out, I can't stop feeling anxious or thinking about it the night before - sometimes resulting in a tossing, turning, sleepless night :(
Is there someone who could go out with you? I find I'm alright if I'm with someone else, like family.
